Employer Nominated Permanent Residence Subclass 186 Visa
This is a permanent residence visa available to applicants that are nominated under an occupation on the Medium to Long Term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL).
The subclass 186 visa has two streams:
- Temporary Residence Transition (TRT); and
- Direct Entry (DE).
Temporary Residence Transition (TRT)
The visa applicant must:
- Be nominated by their employer
- Be the holder of a subclass 457 or 482 visa
- Be under 45 years of age (some exemptions apply)
- Meet registration / licensing requirements (if applicable)
- Have worked for their sponsoring employer for 3 years*
- Meet English, health and character criteria
* Certain health professionals (eg. General Practitioners) do not need to be employed by the same employer for 3 years but must have been employed for 3 years in Australia.
