Business Innovation and Investment Subclass 188 Visa
This visa is a temporary visa which provides an initial 4 year visa with a pathway to permanent residence. There are several streams of this visa including:
Investor
- Investor
- Significant Investor
- Business Owner
- Entrepreneur
Key criteria:
- Be nominated by a State or Territory Government
- Be under 55 years of age
- Have assets of at least $2.25 million
- Make an investment of $1.5 million in your nominating State or Territory
- Score at least 65 on the points test
- Meet English, health and character criteria
Significant Investor
Key criteria:
- Be nominated by a State or Territory Government
- Make a complying investment of $5 million
- Meet English, health and character criteria although you can pay an additional application charge if you do not have the required level of English
Business Owner
Key criteria:
- Be nominated by a State or Territory Government
- Be under 55 years of age
- Have an ownership interest in a business that meets certain turnover requirements
- Have net business and / or personal assets of at least $800,000
- Score at least 65 on the points test
- Meet English, health and character criteria
Entrepreneur
Key criteria:
- Be nominated by a State or Territory Government
- Be under 55 years of age
- Have a complying entrepreneurial activity
- Receive funding from an ‘approved’ entity
- Meet English, health and character criteria
Business Innovation and Investment Subclass 888 Visa
This visa is a permanent visa which is available to holders of a subclass 188 visa that meet the relevant criteria that applies to their specific stream of visa.
Each stream (i.e. Investor, Significant Investor, Business Owner and Entrepreneur) has its own criteria
Business Talent Subclass 132 Visa
This visa provides direct permanent residence for business owners who meet certain requirements.
Key criteria:
- Be nominated by a State or Territory Government
- Be under 55 years of age
- Have an ownership interest in a business that meets certain turnover and asset requirements
- Have net business and / or personal assets of at least $1.5 million
- Meet English, health and character criteria
